Robin Wilensky is a technologist who has worked at various technology vendors for over 13 years. She is currently a senior systems engineer at Sun Microsystems covering downtown NYC and specializes in software and desktop technologies. She is also the team lead for the Web 2.0 initiative for her area. Prior to Sun, Robin was a systems engineer at Netscape Communications during the Web 1.0 era. She began her career as a technical support specialist for Information Builders, Inc.

Robin is quite comfortable speaking in front of audiences large and small – a confidence gained through her time as a Teaching Assistant and through hundreds of presentations given at customer and employee meetings. Most recently, Robin presented at ACORD/LOMA (the Insurance Systems Forum) and at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. She has also submitted a proposal to speak at the Web 2.0 Expo in New York in September and at the Sun Microsystems Americas Sales Meeting in August.

Robin's interests include education, working with children, volunteering, traveling and promoting online safety. She participated in the UN Youth Summit Conference in 2006 and has also served as a Big Sister in her community's Big Brother Big Sister chapter for over 2 years. She is also a core team member for MAGIC (a mentoring program for middle and high school girls interested in computing). Robin has a B.S. in Marketing and Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Management Information Systems and will be pursuing a degree in Educational Technology this Fall. Robin is married and lives in New York with her husband, Neil.
