Authentic conversation leads to more connections between people and ideas.
I make authentic conversations happen at companies, organizations and conferences like Google, South by Southwest Interactive, BlogHer, AIGA, Social Venture Network, Forum One’s Marketing and Online Communities Conference and Overlap 08.
My uniquely interactive talks often involve bringing out the best in you, other speakers and the “audience.” This means:
•you don’t have sit through another Powerpoint
•your online content is much more valuable
• speakers spend less time on preparation
•the event is as engaging as the networking in the halls
I’m a nationally-touring comedian and playwright who makes authentic conversations happen. I’ve known business and technology audiences since I began to work the web in 1995. In my unique comedic training, I worked in strategy roles with many Internet start-ups, New Line Cinema, Knowledge Adventure, and Apple Computer’s first music group which pioneered webcasting. I also learned improv at Groundlings in LA. Smart, funny audiences at my Internet Roast inspired me to open source parts of my show. I continue to mix theatre, stand-up and aspects of the Net to create interactive performance.
I’ve written for Alan Cumming’s as Webby’s host, been featured on npr’s Technation and provide commentary for media like the San Jose Mercury News, TheStreet.com and CBC Radio. Much to my parents’ delight, I have degrees from Yale and Northwestern Law. My unusually-named talk show mashes up extremely diverse guests and the audience around a universal theme.
I promise you that I will never use the words “leverage” or “synergize” unless it’s for a very important lifesaving purpose.
