'Been explaining Windows Technologies for over a decade. Started in the early 90's as a administrative assistant who also happened to purchase, network, and maintain all computers for the company (as well as the phone and pager systems for the business). Was farmed out by savvy boss to other business owners when, on the golf course, it became obvious that the only one there with a network that never went down was him.
I realized I could make more money (and have more respect) if I simply ditched the admin job and went full time tech. I became a technical instructor for years, then instructor and facilities person (ala managed all classroom computers and ordered courseware in addition to teaching), then finally I struck out on my own and became an independent instructor, presenter, and technical author.
I have contributed to the books of such esteemed technical authors as Mark Minasi ("Mastering Windows Server 2003" and "Mastering Windows 2003 Upgrade Edition for SP1 and R2"), and David Pogue (Vista: The Missing Manual). In 2007 I wrote a book myself "Mastering Windows SharePoint Services 3.0."
I currently travel around helping companies understand and implement Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. I also present at conferences such as Windows Connections, IT360, and the occasional Birds of a Feather or Instructor Led Lab session at TechEd North America.
