I've been working in the AV industry since the days of macro viruses, and have seen a wide variety of changes in malware and in the security industry as a whole. In my previous incarnation I helped the Avert group at McAfee develop and change to keep up with the increasing speed and complexity of malware, including training a number of "generations" of new researchers. In my current position, I'm doing the same for the testing industry - helping it to evolve to reflect the evolution of the malware environment.
